Marry into Fiction

Mags at Austenblog has just married Henry Tilney from this website. Some of our favourite characters are waiting to be married as well:

From Jane Eyre:

Edward Fairfax Rochester (married to 17 people)
John Reed (unmarried)
Richard Mason (unmarried)
St.John Rivers (married once)

From Wuthering Heights:

Catherine Linton (unmarried)
Hareton Earnshaw (unmarried)
Harton’ (unmarried…)
Heathcliff (married to 15 people)
Linton Heathcliff (married to 3 people)

Looks like Jane should have checked the pantry and the cellar, and the shed, and under the bed… in the closet, behind the curtains…

  5. I did think Hareton was the fan favourite (after Heathcliff)… I would like to know who would want to marry Heathcliff! It is my belief that if you’re not Cathy the elder, this is not at all a good idea. 😉

Oh, I know there are. But I really believe that if you are not Cathy Earnshaw, that would not be at all wise!–>
